Scrabble Style.

I love Scrabble. It is easily my favourite board game and lately I have been getting on board (pun intended) with Scrabble related merchandise. So far I only have a mug but you can get anything and everything scrabbled. Cushions. Plates. Bed spreads. Art. Here's the best of the best. If this were a game, these pieces would be bound to land on a Triple Word Score.

When clothes die...

When clothes die, you hope there's a better life out there for them. Clothing heaven if you like.

A final resting place for your believed sweaters to recover from whatever horrible affliction they have suffered in their lifetime (bad seams, colour fade, staining and unfortunate stretching are just among a few of the many conditions known to plague clothes) you hope they'll be off to a better place. While that place is more often or not the donations bin at your local charity, if there was a heaven for clothes I'm sure this would be it. Alternatively (and a much better alternative at that) this is also the place that wonderful, new clothes come to live out their glory years.

If my clothes collection was given the gift of space, I'm sure it would be more than happy to ride out its days in here. The contents of this closet is not dissimilar to mine either, for as much as I would love to experiment with colour, I tend to buy things in grey, white and black. Vibrant, huh?

And how cool is the shopping bag artwork? Never throw out your shopping bags. Unless it's for recycling of course. Keep the good ones but let's not forget to be environmentally friendly.

I saw this photo the other day on Pinterest and consequently lost my shit. So naturally I hightailed it over to House of Turqoise to see the rest of the place. Oh em gee girlfriend, oh em gee. Both the bath and kitchen are full of natural light and gorgeous detailing. And the colour palette gives the home such a soothing presence.

I love this. And I mean love. Shout it from the rooftops, put a ring on it love. The ceiling detail, the farmhouse sink (kill me now), the pots as book ends. Even that jar on the left. Oh how I love glass jars as storage. I myself have actually taken to repurposing glass candle jars and using them to hold makeup and jewelry. I know, how resourceful.

Here's the kitchen from another angle. You know, just in case you have some trouble identifying what a kitchen is (if you are struggling, look for a stove or oven, sinks find themselves at home in bathrooms and laundries and sometimes you will find a bar fridge masquerading as a bedside table in the bedroom of a poor uni student). Anyway, I wanted to include this image because boy was I ecstatic when I realised those jars weren't a one off. They're everywhere! It wasn't an accident! Whoever lives here loves glass jars as much as I do!

This was my favourite shot of the bathroom. How cool is the frosted glass on the shower door? I bet you the frosting is strategically placed to hide your lady bits. Just in case someone busts in on you, in which case, shame on you you silly sausage, learn to lock the door!

I love this bathroom. It is just so luscious. How great is the darker wood on the vanity? I was expecting the same palette to be used as in the kitchen so this was a nice surprise. I also love the light fixture.

Flower Power.

You don't see enough flower boxes these days. You really don't. I don't know why and I don't particularly care. Whatever reason it is, not good enough. I think someone needs to bring the flower box back. So I'm doing my bit here, one photo at a time.

Console me.

I know. That title, hilarious. And if you didn't find it funny, well I suppose that's alright, because I had a good chuckle over here.

But yes, I do want to be consoled. I mean, would you look at that console come bedside table creation? Seriously, look at it. Breathe in the sheer beauty of it. Smell the flowers (but please, don't literally start sniffing the computer screen, particularly if you happen to be in a public library). It is the furniture equivalent of the frog that was kissed and turned into a Prince. 

You can tell this whole room is just sensational. From what I can see of the bed I would love it, because I love a nailhead trim. But I have never wanted to get rid of my bedside table more. I think they might even be in danger of becoming obsolete.

Tiles with Style

I would love both of these tiles. They are classy and gorgeous. I love the one on the left in particular. It's soft and sweet and quite calming. The stress ball of tiles if you like. I love the second one too, it would make an awesome feature wall in a bathroom or even for the floor?

Also how fabulous would they be not only in the bathroom, but as a splash back in the kitchen?

The House That Noah Built.

When I saw this photo on the Martha Stewart website my mind immediately went to The Notebook. Could it be? It wasn't. But it was just as beautiful and had an equally captivating view of the water. And I was just as jealous of its  occupants.

I think I quite easily made my way through a box of Kleenex while watching The Notebook. I bawled my eyes out many a time and then sat in disbelief for half an hour after the credits had rolled. I don't think I'd ever been so thankful to have waited for the DVD and not seen a film at the cinema. While I'm sure the experience would have been better in the movies, I'm glad no members of the public ever got to see the mess that was my face at the end of that movie. Mascara, everywhere.

I fell in love with Noah early on. And then over and over again as the movie went on. The scene where Allie faints after seeing that Noah fulfilled his promise and built the dream house. I would have fainted too. A white house with blue shutters. Every time I drive past one I am so insanely envious of whoever lives there. And while, had I been Allie, I probably would have requested navy shutters and a darker tile for the roof, I won't complain. The house is as beautiful as the story.

Think Pink.

Do you remember Think Pink? It was a song sung by Barbie and I had it on cassette. Yes, Barbie. As in the doll. It was a brilliant song and probably the highlight of my whole cassette collection. I was a very pink child. Pink clothes. Pink shoes. I wish my parent's had given me a pink room. But I have grown up. Now I think you'd be hard pressed to find something pink in my wardrobe. And I never thought I'd be a fan of pink furniture. And then you see a photo of amazing pink chairs and everything changes. Tickle me pink any day. Oh, and I don't mind the sprinkling of turquoise either.

The Dream House

You can't look at a house like this and not envy the people who live there. Not just because they are a gorgeous little family and because they have a glorious little garden that resembles that of Miss Honey's from Matilda, but because this house just screams 'home'. Perhaps screamed is a little to dramatic. But you can just tell that it smells like fresh cookies and there is an unfinished game of scrabble on the table.
